Popular maths, English and ESOL courses return in January 2024

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ (°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ) has announced that the next cohorts of many of its popular maths, English and ESOL courses will begin in January 2024. Bookings for the courses are open now.

The courses and their confirmed start dates are:

Teaching maths GCSE: Develop your practice (Level 5) – Starts Monday 15 January
This course is aimed at all professionals who work with GCSE maths learners and focuses on how to motivate and engage students, conduct meaningful assessments, and build upon a student’s existing knowledge. .

Developing your learners’ maths skills in vocational and technical settings – Starts Tuesday 16 January
This course is aimed at those who teach in a vocational and technical setting and equips practitioners with a range of techniques and practices for a variety of contexts. .

Teaching ESOL in the post-16 sector: develop your practice (Level 5) – Starts Monday 15 January
During the course, participants will investigate approaches and methods that aid the language learning requirements, motivations, and challenges encountered by diverse learner groups, such as refugees and asylum seekers, to enhance their English literacy abilities. .

Teaching English Functional Skills (Level 5) – Starts Tuesday 16 January
Professionals involved in educating Functional Skills English learners will have the opportunity to examine and actively participate in techniques for inspiring and keeping learners engaged, as well as conducting assessments to build upon their previous learning. .

Additionally, a small number of places are still available on Teaching Maths Functional Skills (Level 5), which starts on Wednesday 15 November 2023. The course is designed for all teachers of Functional Skills maths, including those who have recently transferred from other areas of teaching. Participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to engage and motivate reluctant learners and use active approaches to develop learners’ skills. .

All of the courses in our English and maths offer are delivered online for two hours every week for 10 weeks. They are also available for onsite group bookings, which can be enquired about via the booking links.
